The Fort Smith Boys Home's mission is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of children and young adults who are displaced from their families, or who are involved in the foster care system due to abuse, neglect or abandonment.
We provide a safe haven for boys in need. We are helping our own boys in our area. We believe we have a responsibility to our community's boys to help them "at home." It is comforting for our community to know that if a boy has a need, through no fault of his own, he has a "home" to go to.
We are supported by the United Way of Fort Smith, state and local government agencies, many private businesses, donors and volunteers. We are continually looking to diversify our funding in order to improve our services to the youth we serve.
Our goal is to develop a long term, residential, healthy living environment capable of helping children placed in the Home. These kids and their families are facing many challenges and need someone to help guide them so the kids can get through their teenage years without the influence of drugs, sex, crime, truancy or dropping out of school.
We are a non-lockdown facility where these children live and receive different services to help them overcome their problems. We put emphasis on family living and try to create an atmosphere that is similar to living at home. Many of the children may have been abused and/or neglected by their parents or guardians and, as a result, end up with us by order of the courts.
The Fort Smith Boys Home is of real service to the communities of Western Arkansas, saving taxpayers money, providing a lifeline to families in need, and helping boys of our area.
